Large-scale ejection seats?

You know, it occurred to me that a seat could be designed that had a spring inside, that at the touch of a release catch, could actually "eject"...

Someone with far better engineering skills than I would have to figure that one out...

Yep I can honestly say I'm the only one on the block that has actual 1 and 1/2 of another one that would be a B-52H Pilot seat that I'm thinking of making a chair out of.
