has anyone built a Greenfield p-38 Lightening?

I have tried several times to build the p-38 model from Greenfield.

Part of my problem is that I have re-scaled it for 1:107 (aka 15mm) to use with Flames of War game.

My main problem is the nose of the central nacelle. I can't seem to get the compound curves right.

I don't believe I've heard of a P-38 from Greenfield. I have not heard of a designer or manufacturer named Greenfield either. Is it perhaps Fiddlers Green of which you refer?

If you are talking about the FG model, I haven't build one in forever but I have it. Looking at the part, I remember it was difficult.

What I would do is split the part in two. Just behind the gun ports, at the line where the full circumference of the nose would roll around, cut that part off so you have a partial cone like the other pieces of the fuselage. This will leave you with a three-sided pyramid shape to form the nose cone. Add a tab to the backside of the part where you cut and join it like you do with the rest of the fuselage.

If this isn't clear, let me know and I'll print a quick copy and build to illustrate for ya.

i think it is like this:
you need to switch the boom and the front cowling parts
i.e. left front cowling goes with right boom and vice versa
did the model a few months back and couldn't get it to sit straight, then somebody (do not remember who) informed me/us what was needed to do
reprinted the model but hasn't got to it yet

My apologies. Fiddler's Green it is.

I have reduced my copy about 100%, to make it a 1:107 scale figure. I use regular weight paper, because card is too stiff to make the little parts.

I found some "aluminium" colored paper, alum. color clear through, which makes the plane look nice.

The aluminum paper sounds facinating...We'd really like to see some pictures.

I am going to try another build, but I'd like some advice on the front of the main nacelle.
There was supposed to be a tutorial on burnishing, but I can't "find" it in the search.
