I hear you Rick. For the record, it didn't go unnoticed by me but I'll let Yogi address this issue as it pertains to his Bomarcs.

For you designer/repainters out there, here's a page from a USAF manual dated 1994, and the proportions are the same as they were in 1944:

Well Rick (says I, hanging my head in shame), you didn't miss anything and your analysis is correct.
The model started out as a simple stomp rocket with enough "exciting" detail to motivate the kids as they built their simple tubular rockets (see basic stomp rockets in the downloads). As such, the insignia was TLAR (and the original font also was wrong).
Peer pressure resulted in a redesign to add enough detail to make a respectable model (and Mike did send me the correct national insignia earlier) but I guess a few of the corrections didn't get made while I was searching for panel lines & etc.

So, I'll fix that bit, update the versions files in the download section, etc. Stand by - oh, and thanks for the input!

Yogi (most of the airplanes in my career didn't have much in the way of markings, but that's a different story ...)

Simple versions are in our aviation downloads. Eventually, all three detailed versions will be at ecardmodels.

Bomarc has graciously changed the insignia on my B-17
and made them to specs. I want to thank him for that.
It has enhanced the model greatly.......Ron

I wouldn't be too sure of that Ron. At first I was relieved that the two part fuselage insignia lined up in the Boats build:

Then I saw the other side:

ACK! I guess some adjustment will be needed....

See Yogi? Maybe it was a good thing you didn't use that "star and bar" I sent you.

Mike,
Don't do anything yet. We have to get confirmation of a
mismatch from Boats. He has not mentioned any mismatch
and I do not believe he has the fuselage sections glued
together yet. He has them just fit together for photo's...Ron

And the Bomarc versions file in the aviation downloads has updated insignia (drawn from the T.O., thanks Mike).
