Excellent work making sure things will appear correct.
I was looking at my book for the kit last night, and was thinking...Damn big bird. Then I remembered the days I was crawling around them, dodging them on the taxiways and I thought...Damn big bird.

[QUOTE=peter taft;149464]Cheers mate. The Pylon {engine mount} from it's TIP to TAIL is 8 3/4" {220cm} in length, this is the OUTBOARD mount - the INBOARD mounts are a wee bit shorter. The TOTAL length of PYLON + NACELLE = 10 1/2" {265cm} Huge :D
Peter i hopy you missed a comma here, cause if not, then you need a bigger house :D the engine pylons would be 2,2 meters with total length of 2,65 meters

I was hoping to have a few pictures of the undercarriage for you guys - BUT, the parts are not good to say the least. Several problems:
1} Parts that are supposed to be SYMMETRICAL are NOT 2} The HAND DRAWING on most was POOR 3} The top layer of the cardstock started to DE-LAMINATE, especially on the smaller parts. This is what i have done today: 1} I have cut out one {1} complete set of parts for the undercarriage 2} I attached these to a cutting mat and scanned them all in to the computer 3} I have cleaned up - Resized {where necessary} and Re-designed some of the parts. The above work took up all of my spare time today, so no chance of a TEST BUILD - Sorry guys :( What i will do next: I will TEST the NEW PARTS and when complete post the results for you. If the new parts work {i have every faith that they will} then i will offer the sheet of the new parts to you guys who want to build this model. I don't think i am breaking any laws by doing this - I want this bird to LOOK brilliant, and know way were the parts good enough, hence this up-grade. The sheet will be free of course. So stay tuned, should have at least one carriage assembly by the weeks end. P.S Does anyone have or know where i can get a PHOTO REALISTIC flight panel for this model ? I have looked, found several photographs, but the flight yolks need to be removed and the thrust levers too, i can do this in PSP, but if anyone already knows where i can obtain this already done would be a great help - Scale isn't an issue, i can re-scale what ever turns up. Thanks in advance. Last edited by peter taft; 09-07-2010 at 03:23 PM. |

Peter,
Check the Flight Sim community, they might have something, I know that the yokes and throttle cluster do not show Rick

Peter I have a panel that I was working up for my own version. Not finished yet but it is a flat panel without the yokes of the panels from the flight manuals. I retouched it in Photoshop and combined the two page spread for you. Hope it helps Last edited by mldixon; 09-08-2010 at 06:37 AM. Reason: Not finished |
