Thanks for the encouragement Don
Not too much to add now just as well getting to the stage where I knock too many parts off. Added more rails here and there. replaced the deck above the torpedo tubes just could not stand the awful cutting I had done there any more. I made a new shorter template for the rails and reinforced the edges with lollipop sticks it improved it for me. I had to put a base on it my eyes just can't deal with so many lines otherwise. Next one will be narrower with only 2 sets of rails. Growing old can be a pain in the butt at times. Question how do clean super glue off brushes ? |

Gee Barry, I go off playin' and movin' and stuff and you just merrily work away on the Agano. Great looking work, especially those rails. Now that the summer is settiling down a bit I will be getting back to my modeling again.

rails and ladders
Thanks for looking Glen and Jay
A long slog of rails and ladders I made the rails from superglued cotton but when it came to the ladders the first batch was a disaster far to brittle they looked great until you cut them. Then they just fell apart. Started again and used Jim's method substituting watered down pva glue (pretty runny) . I found I needed a 3 cocktail sticks and a knitting needle to hold the rungs against the uprights. I had to brush the mix lightly onto the threads and if the brush pulled the rungs out of shape then I used the sticks to flick them back in place. The other stick I used when stippling the brush still left pva across 2 rungs jabbed it through then rearranged the the uprights. I needed 3 coats to get a reasonable stiffness. This method allowed cutting out the ladders and if I had better eyesight I would have produced far better ladders. |

Excellent Barry.
The aircraft are wonderful. You managed to make two that look identical. The same can be said about the boats on the deck. Mike |

You've made some marvelous headway, the aircraft and boats really came out splendid. I really love the photos showing all the little do-dads you've added, really brilliant work mate! Cheers! Jim |
