Yes, me too. Maybe we can talk him into Chikuma too?? Always liked the turrets forward cruisers. The old FLY Tone is dated.

Off the board
Thanks for stopping Mike and Don
No plans unfortunately Fred it's a good looking ship. I had to do a little sanding on the spine and a former down to my bad cutting I think. It seems to be holding shape ok no banana bends as yet It also has the deck sloping towards the stern, not a lot but enough to show. |

I always loved the slim look of IJN cruisers, and am all too glad it's taking shape nicely.
What is the release plan for this model, if any?

Thanks Lex I like the style of the japanese cruisers too before they turned a lot of them into aircraft carriers of a sort. Release will be through Chris on ecardmodels as usual. Hopefully this time I will keep the numbering going from the start.
Added the underwater parts of the formers. |

First underwater skin
The first skin of the underwater hull is in place I used 80 gsmnotepaper. It is not suitable for an outer skin due to the rather complex curves of this particular ship it's only purpose is to provide a good gluing surface. The outer skin will be 160 gsm card preformed to shape.

Hello Barry,
I watch your hull technique with interest. The deck looks good. Mike |
