The Red Baron - a graghic history
In 2014, writer/illustrator Wayne Vansant produced a graphic history of the air war of WW-1. Put out by Zenith Press, the book has 101 pages of well executed narrative and illustrations centered on the person of Manfred von Richthofen, but with accurate historical information about other leading figures such as Canadian Billy Bishop, Englishman Albert Ball, German Werner Voss, and others.
Vansant includes a bit of historical background of the air war, beginning with the fledgling air arms of the combatant nations. He briefly then shows how fighter aircraft developed and improved. Regarding Richthofen's death, Vansant includes Capt. Roy Brown's claim, but also presents the evidence that the Red Baron was brought down by ground fire. Vansant's work is produced in the graphic novel format, each page comprised of illustration panels. But this is not a "comic book". It is a visual depiction of historical events. A nicely done publication.

I want to make a note on the the quality of the book. The cover and pages are of high quality material, slick and glossy. This is not a cheaply made book. It would make a fine addition to anyone's WW-1 air war library.
