If you have access to old National Geographic archives, there is a great short read by Alan Villiers about the Wheat race he was in with the big steel 4 master Parma, frightenly real description of surviving a gale with a full cargo hold...wow. The issue is Jan 1933.

Hi Glen, I am a big Villiers fan. His books are well worth hunting down on ebay.
