thats what i did - but when I saved into .doc it said sometihng was not compatible - however I have no idea what that was

It is a warning that the two formats are different and that you could lose some graphic specific settings or functions. For general contents it should be the same. For this reason it is better to share pdf formats (if the document has not to be changed by other users).
