I'm sorry. But it is funny to me. Sound like Zealot banning people left and right. That's funny. I do like to go to Zealot, for the mecha and anything scifi. Most time I'm here tho, for the ship, armor and aircraft. Feel like we have more mature adult here for some reason, don't know why. I just like it here more.

i,m 1 of the members that was kicked after giving my opinion .

after "our friends" (the old moderators) were gone,, my account is accessible again but i visted zealot just 1's a month .

most memebers from zealot (old and new ) are also over here (but spend more time here )

and yes goodduck at that time zealot kicked a lot of designers and regular members because they didnt agree .
search the forum's for more info you'll find what you want to know .

Several months ago, and thanks to the huge and famous tree-killer project of a dear Sci-fi spaceship, is that I discovered Zealot.

And it was thanks to Zealot that I discovered Papermodelers.
(Or rather, I would say: "the lack of certain things I was looking for lead me to look outside there, and I reached here").

Now I'm more active here than there.

Both forums have their strengths and unique features, though.

If you do a search on this forum about Zealot. You will find enough information about what happened over there.

The truth is. The forum is dedicated to making money. That is all it was about. It had nothing to do with furthering hobbies. The forum was savaged by a hired admin who was in my opinion a hired goon.

This 'goon' went about banning all those individuals who provided links to free and pay materials. Materials that furthered the hobby of card modeling. Imagine spending hundreds of hours designing a model and releasing it for free to the world only to be branded selfish because the model was on your website and you provided the link. The owner of the website also joined in with such 'goon-like' activity and it was clearly stated that the site was for making money and not for enjoying a hobby.

Still to this day. The forum is about making money and acquiring other forums like big business gobbles up the little businesses and turns them into faceless entities.

Be thankful that we are on this forum and that this forum actually cares deeply about the hobby.

You are right, StevO!

R.I.P. Zealot, i think it is not worth any further discussion. As i have written...it´s history.

I disagree, Zealot is still a good place and has much to offer for those focused on sci fi builds. Its a little sparse on other stuff but still has a lot of good info and people to chat with.

Coming from the guy that was one of the first casualties too (ex-admin there)

Also please dont equate Crowdgether with Zealot. when they found out what their new admin in question was doing, they promptly got rid of him but by then the damage was done. Zealot is now run by Ekuth as the admin who is doing a great job and CG is now maintaining a hands off approach which really helps. CG throws some ads on top and thats about the extent of it....

Our hobby needs as many creative outlets as possible in my opinion and Zealot does a great job on the sci fi side which doesnt really have a large following here.

If you are still having issues over there please just drop Ekuth a direct pm again at zealot and he will be able to help you out. He had an IMMENSE pile of stuff to fix the previous admin messed up (that was let go) and most of those functions were new to him. Cut him some slack as he was doing it all pretty much by himself.
