What is Zealot?
I noted from the XB-70 thread in the aviation forum, that the author and others were kicked out of the Zealot site. As a newcomer to the on line paper forum ( with this being the only site I subscribe to ), I would like to know why? I don't mean to kick up the muck, but need to know. Are they like Papermodelers.com ? or am I seeing a political / ideological difference between the two sites?
Thanks Isaac |

That is another story long past and done. Situation is back to normal with a great moderator taking over. It is ancient history and not worth taking time out to discuss it. Check the site out and you will also enjoy their venue. See you around the forums, here and there.

No worries
Hey.
No worries your just asking a question. If you google zealot you will find what your looking for mate. It has a paper modelers section and much more. Nobody is going to ping you for going there and you will find many of us already peruse that site anyway. At the end of the day we are all paper modelers. I won't post the link as I am not sure about the rules on that but google away. Cheers Jim |

There was an incident a while back-a year, two years ago?-that involved the Zealot hobby forum, which by all accounts was/is a fine forum. It was, however, badly managed for a time and there was a conflict between many of the long-time members and the new management. A lot of those old members were kicked out of the forum. After an outcry, the management was replaced and as far as I can tell, everything is back to normal.
I hope I summarized it correctly, I wasn't directly involved in the whole affair, but that summarizes what I heard "through the grapevine" so to speak. I think at least part of the conflict had to do with the designers. They were being treated badly. I think members were also being banned for linking to other forums (counter-intuitive, I know.) Oops, I see I wasn't the only one replying hehe. As they said, it's ancient history now and all is well now. |

History is more like it
Zealot was/is a hobby forum, it was created to house a multitude of disparate hobby forums, one of them was cardmodels.net. Zealot did begat papermodelers.com, which in turn has become the largest English language paper/card modeling forum site on the web. That is pretty much it in the cliff notes version of a nutshell

Really? He has had great words in the past, but i´m waiting for 6 (six) months now, that he will reopen my account there.....In my opinion zealot is history......not worth to talk about it.

Geez, after reading this and the XB-70 thread realize I haven't been back to zealot since finding this one.
Wonder if I'm banned? Best regards, Mike Bauer |
