That's one thing that I would never ever attempt. But that is well worth to see built!!!

1/72 scale is a bit fiddly for me, but that was the common scale for the models i got from the SAFmuseum so i will stick to it (don't remember it being fiddly from back in my childhood though)
oh, and i almost forgot - also a 1/48 J-37 Viggen to be made as the airshow model "Petter Blĺ", it was supposed to be done by my son at first but i kinda inherited it, as well as a 1/76 Airfix model of the battle tank Matilda or the "Hedgehog" we struck a deal on that one - i'll build it and my kid will paint it

Nothing wrong with building plastic kits, love them myself, but then again I love all sorts of model building. Nothing wrong with expanding the skills. And no need to stop building with card while building plastic kits. My Tamiya USS Enterprise has a card hanger deck to store the planes (less dust inside the ship).
Not sure if it's the same in Sweden, but here in the UK the plastic kit market is BOOMING again. |

Ha! A defector. I too have had to take a break from paper modeling, but for health reasons. I'm thinking about doing a Revell P-51D @ 1/48 when I get back on my feet. But I'm going to continue doing some paper (mainly finishing up already started projects).

All of this plastic talk reminded me that I got a really nice 1/48 scale P-51B "Old Crow" model by Academy as a Christmas present this year from my sister. Don't know if I want to build it up as an all plastic model or just use some of the bits to ad detail to Dave's already fine model.

Curt,
you can't leave the Plastic Kit without parts and essentially useless so I wouldn't do that. what parts would you use anyway?

it is like childhood revisited, only now i can afford better models AND i don't put crackers in them to blow them up not sure how i will present the Saturn V, if i will do it lying down with separate stages or standing upright got the perfect place for both variants though, on the wall of the staircase, right now i'm leaning towards lying down and if i do that i think i will put some paper in the engine bells to make them look better
