Way to go Paul! Way to represent!

That Halinski Hellcat is still the best model that I have ever built BTW. I always recommend it to anybody who wants to dig into "serious" (ahem) cardmodeling. You can't beat it.

Nice. Congrats. We are making strides into the mainstream folks. And this is
what it takes to do it.

Big congrats Paul! Hopefully card models will become more and more common at these events. And I concur about the Hellcat - very nice kit!

That is great! How many "Is that really paper?" type comments did you get?

I did get a few of these The best compliment I got was "wow, I thought this was a plastic model".

Paul,
Congratulations! How did you get the semi-gloss finish on the Hellcat? Is that just the finish of the Halinski printed sheets, or did you coat it with something? The Halinski kits I have are pretty much a flat finish.

Hey Roger,

You're absolutely right about the shine - most Halinski kits, including the Hellcat, have the flat finish. Hellcat received two coats of Humbrol high gloss varnish applied with a brush. I plan of eventually giving it a coat of satin varnish to tone down the shine a little.

Paul
