hi i just posted a comment there saying the it is illegal to buy this model it is pirated from another designer it is availible for free no need to pay

Atam is not selling nor giving away the plans. He is selling the built up models only.

For the least, he is not blatantly saying he is giving out the templates. From what I've read in the post and some of the replies, he mostly implies he's selling the built models. Though a few replies suggest otherwise...

I remembered him from zealot and emailed him. I heard back within about 2 minutes or so. He seemed legit back at Zealot and have no reason to not believe him now

sorry, but that seems like a yes to the idea of him selling a model design that he does not own.

And nowhere does he ever give credit to the original model designer,
in fact he seems to enjoy the fact that everyone assumes he is the "talented" artist and designer of a paper sculpture.

He even puts his copyright notice under the photograph implying that he owns the design...most people wouldn't know that the copyright only applies to the posted photograph.

Sorry, but I'm not too impressed by the entire presentation here.

I think the whole thing has gone too far, way past the point of any
"misunderstandings" or "misplaced credit".

Just me...but if it was my model, I would be posting on his blog that it wasn't his design, the "templates" are not for sale, and credit should be given to the original designer of this model!

I would also ask him to remove the post completely out of respect
and return any money he has received from sales of the design.

Then I would ask that he stop redstributing the model design, even for free, since he never asked permission to share the design on this scale.

and one more thing...artwanted.com is not a "blog" site.

I have had art for sale on that site for many years.
I even advertise the site on my personal website
It is known primarily as and for artists looking to sell works.
Its an entire online store where artists setup a free store section solely for the purpose of selling artworks.

To me, it just adds to the idea of him looking to sell something.

I hadnt noticed the copyright thing. I will ask him. Its easy enough to do rather than just assuming what his intentions might be.

well, heres a little update.

I posted my comment on his "page"
I am a member and was logged in at the time, but now my posts are listed as "anonymous"

The seller added a reply to a previous post stating that he only sells completed models (this was after my question)

He also responded to my post by asking where he states that he sells the model designs.
I reminded him to read his own earlier posts.

I decided to acknowledge the fact that he added the new post stating he only sells completed models.
And I was going to suggest he add that information to the photo description.

But it appears I have been blocked from posting...at least under my member's name.

So I will post under the anonymous banner (but I still post my name).
Sorry, but if you want to build and display a model like this, you better credit the original designer.
If you want to try to sell the completed model, at least have the courtesy to admit you didn't design it.
If you are going to agree to sell the the plans or model designs, then first ask permission to do so.

and even if you are planning on giving away the model, contact the owner and ask permission.

I know what the guy is saying but I have a bad feeling about it and am having trouble beleiving the guy.

It seems like to me that he just got caught and is trying to worm his way out of it.

I looked over at Zealot where he hangs out and he has openly linked to artwanted.com in his posts, but still...
