I am asking for your prayers
Today was not a good day I spent 13 hours at the hospital today.
My youngest son Kevin who lives with us has had the flu for the last week. Last night I heard him banging around the house and thought little of it as he is a sleep walker. There were no outward signs of any injury but apparently he fell and suffered a head injury. This morning he was acting groggy as if his flu fever had come back. At 8 AM he fell and could not get back up. I examined him and thought he had had a stroke. By 9:30 he was on the operating table for 3 1/2 hours of surgery. If he survived the surgery they only gave him a 25% chance of recovering completely and could have issues similar to a major stroke. The surgery went well but it is not clear if there will be any permanent issues. A comment comes to mind that I heard many years ago "A man should never out live his children" Jim Nunn

Jim, you have my family's prayers for full recovery for your son. Hang in...miracles do happen. I flashed back to a telephone call that my oldest son was in the hospital in critical condition following being run over by an automobile with crushed pelvis, etc. etc. His doctor told me that if he survived, he likely would never be able to walk normally again. Well, he did recover, and well enough that he was later able to serve a tour in Afghanistan humping the squad heavy weapon over hill and dale.

I am so very sorry to hear this. I and my wife are getting together with our Pastor and his wife for dinner tomorrow, and I will remember you and your son and ask our Pastor to pray for you both too.
There is a verses I like and I will try to remember whenever I am not doing too good and looking for comfort "Matthew 11:28-30 ~ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Also, a hymn I love so very much ~ "It Is Well With My Soul". I tried to type the song but I think easier to give you the youtube link and hop you will found comfort in it just as it did for me many times ~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPPSG_SpojY&feature=related
