Pt 658

If this doesn't move you, nothing will:

PT Boat 658 - The only functional, restored, PT boat left in the world! Operating out of Portland, Oregon.

I agree, Mike. It would make a great addition to anyone's PT collection.

Thank you GhShinn for posting this.
I found it very moving, and am very impressed.
The video itself also has a few interesting detail shots, which will be very useful for those who model a PT boat.
Perhaps Airdave might convert his Elco 80 ft design as a special memorial edition to commemorate those veterans who were part of the restoration group and who have passed on.

The only fault in the video is the voiceover speaking of "radial-engined bombers" whilst showing a Lancaster in flight.
In WW2 only 2 Lancaster airframes ever flew powered by radial engines (Bristol Hercules XVIII S iIrc), the vast majority were powered by Merlin inline engines.

The link there is that PT658 is powered by 3 marinised Packard Merlins, the design of which was Licence-Produced in several forms from Rolls Royce, who had originally designed the Merlin under the designation PV 12.

Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.
