It's also a "dry heat inside an oven!" I used to live in Phoenix. I remember moving to a new apartment once. I did it at night when the temp dropped to 102 degrees F (39 deg C).

Where I live in Nebraska we only got about an inch of snow, but I had up to 2.5 inches of ice on my driveway this morning. Oh well, the day off from school let me get a head start on my 2 week Christmas break. I love being a teacher!!!!

But... In my home town (north central Iowa), where I am now, we got 8 inches yesterday with more schedueld tomorrow. FUN :D But really, I like moving snow. Snowblowers are fun :p

They just said on the news that after tomorrows additional 4 to 6 inches it will get VERY cold with wind chills as low as -40° F. Weather in Wisconsin really sucks sometimes, well at least we have the Packers, oh wait... never mind.

The best thing about winter down here- the yard only needs to be mowed every 3-5 weeks... it's every week in the summer.

For the first time in 14 years it snowed hard enough here (antelope valley)to remain on the ground for more than a day. Three days ago it snowed for 15 straight hours and left a foot or so. Out here we call that "snowed in".

Ironically, yesterday we sat on the front porch in t-shirts looking at the snow, since the Sun shines 98% of the year here, it's never really cold...comparatively speaking. It's a dry cold...that must be why.
