"Ye Old Pub" an Amazing Story of Wartime Chivalry

I found this an other articles during my lunch break today.

It is an amazing story about two aircraft from both sides of the war and the two men who became best friends years after their first encounter.

I am sure that a few of you may have already heard of this.

a true hero is never a killer

@Pix,
Yes, in fact I ordered this book for a Vietnam vet co-worker for the holidays (thank you, Danny and USMC).

Put another way, it's not knowing when to pull the trigger, but when not to. . .I have nothing but the highest respect for those in the Deutsches Luftwaffe (and USAAF; Red Army Air Force; RAF; IJAAF: etc.) who exemplified and lived those sentiments.

Franz/Charlie: Glad you guys reconnected and gave us this story to pass on.

One of the docents at the local Air and Space museum told me this story. He was personally a B=36/B-47 pilot.
