lol! we don't have many mountains in our part of Texas, but last weekend they held the annual MS 150.... Houston to Austin for MS. once you get about half way, there are hills involved. the last time i biked off road, i hit the buffalo bayou trail on Houston's west side. we ate cheeseburgers before the ride (groan). I only wrecked once, but I ended up IN the bayou. I also "harfed up" my cheesburger at the end....

Thanks Mike I belong to a local bike club the brazen dropouts as well and got some guys there that are going to point me in the right direction. I have rushed into too many bike purchases in the past. This one will be slower. Thanks for the advice on the setup. I know there are three different styles of mountain bikes too, I gotta figure out what is the best for what i will be doing.
Thanks all!
Chris
p.s. noted - no cheesburgers...
