Not about equipment, but another movie that has ended up as disappointing in my mind is Argo (2012). After enjoying a lot in the cinema (except the utterly stupid final scene at the Tehran airport), I went home only to read that the Canadian ambassador, who is presented in the movie as a bit of a coward, should have been given much of the credit for the plan. Unfair and useless history distortion I think .

Here's a fun one. Not a movie, but a video game. In Battlefield: 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII, one of the planes you get to fly is the Armstrong-Whitworth AW-52 Bomber. Except, the AW-52 didn't fly until 1947, and was a 1/2 scale testbed for a flying-wing airliner...

I liked the movie Argo...thought it was a well done Hollywood film.
But yes, it was very skewed and one sided towards the Americans.
Seems there were some embarassed Americans who didn't want to admit
that Canadians saved the day, and the story has been twisted ever since.
I remember when this event happened and our News stories were very
different than what was being seen and read on American TV and Newspapers.

How about the witness to a murder who, instead of going to the cops, tries to blackmail the murderer. I mean, really, what could go wrong?

US Navy Fighters (the original DOS version, I don't know about the Windows update) claimed to be a simulation, not an arcade/action game, and did have interesting graphics and flight dynamics. But what do you think of landing an F-104 on a carrier?
