I really hate seeing this again. There are some great people over there. Some of them come here, as well. I understand the feelings, but sometimes it is best just to walk away and realize that it is their loss.

On the other hand it has been months since one of these threads has been posted, so things must be improving, but still room for improvement.

Glad you are here, sir

You mean the administrator did not like the way you built your model and that is why you were banned? That is insane if true.

Oh crap! I did not know there is a paper police!

and now back to those that want to derail this discussion

Wow...

Papermaker, just read through the thread in question. I wish to say two things:

1) I'm sorry to see that your (or anybody's) efforts were responded to in that manner.

2) Let it go. The personality in question isn't worth the blood pressure. (I know, easier said than done.)

Thankfully, our admins are NOT like that (and a big THANKS, GUYS! for what you do here!).

It's quite sad and silly when this happens. It's our hobby after all, and it's got to stay fun. I left a certain German forum years ago due to the distracting and destructive bickering and infighting.
So let's just keep doing what we've been doing well for several years here: having a fun and respectful forum about the hobby we enjoy.
Kudos to the admins and moderators.

I'd like to suggest a scenario for you to consider.
I do this because I think the paper modeling community is a larger group, spread across mutliple websites and forums.
What happens on one site, can reflect poorly on an entire community.

Humour me...imagine this scenario:

I'm a Moderator on a paper modeling forum.
...and I am following another member's design and build thread.
A member is sharing their own design and construction method of a boat model.
I feel the need to constantly criticize the work being presented, suggesting that the methods are wrong and I have better solutions.
(Remember, I am a moderator/administrator...I can do this. I am the Law.)

I keep voicing my opposing ideas (but get no response).
I eventually wrap things up by suggesting that the entire project is flawed and should not be shared with the public.
I also criticise the lack of understanding of my suggestions and whine about the lack of response to my tirades.
Then I may it clear that it is my opinion that this model is poorly designed, poorly constructed and should not be
an example for other modellers to follow...and therefore I am within my rights to stop the thread.

I also reiiterate that my posts are going unheard.
A lack of response to my comments is against the forum rules I say.
Finally I "lock" the thread to stop any further posts and comments
and I suggest that the original poster learn more about card modelling before they attempt another "tutorial"

And I top it all off with a few pics of a random boat model,
claim its my own work,
and state "look at mine, its so much better than yours!".

If you're like me, you must be appalled that a scenario like this could actually happen,
and without anyone saying anything.
And yet, this is exactly what happened in the thread that papermaker is posting about.
I can't believe I bothered... but I just went to Zealot and read the thread (so I would understand what we were all talking about).
And I couldn't believe the posts by Zathros...the admin.

This isn't joking anymore.
This isn't me nitpicking about someone I don't like.
This is a request to those in control at Zealot to do something about the disgusting way papermaker has been treated.

Oh, and those boat pics posted by Zathros are not his model.
Thats my opinion.
I'll bet money on it.
