USS Connecticut

I found this picture by accident while searching for USS Iowa pictures. It's of the USS Connecticut during her trials in 1906. It's one of the coolest pictures I've seen and I thought I would share it.

I have a resin kit of her from ISW. Perhaps HMV will produce a paper model of her. She was, after all, the flagship of the Great White Fleet!

The way the water looks, it's like you're in a rowboat. An aw s&$t moment! I had a similar view of a laker on the St Lawrence River from my 19' runabout once.

Do you have anything particular about the Iowa class that you are looking for? I was on the Jersey in 88-89 and the Missouri for 90-91 WestPacs (and of course GW1).

I could look through my old photo albums to see if I may have what your looking for.

The Connecticut class battleships went into service just as Great Britain commissioned HMS Dreadnought, technically rendering their mixed gun battery obsolete. (It was very difficult to distinguish the shell splashes between the secondary 8"/45 and 7"/45 guns.) Yet they gave good service for the US Navy through WWI. They certainly looked attractive before donning gray paint and cage masts. See:

I definitely would be interested in a Connecticut class predreadnought in original configuration, white hull, buff superstructure and gold bow decorations.

Model ?

Hello Folks, yes a model of her would be really good. But for designing a model you would need her hull lines, and i can't find any depictions of them in the net!? For the beginning, there is a model of the cruiser USS Brooklyn ASR 13 from 1896 from the ukrainian publisher Oriel!

Look here:

Have a nice day

There is also a nice model of the USS Maine published by HMV. And, they plan on expanding their range of American ships of the period.
