I stick mostly to ground effect craft. I've got a few hundred hours in a 2009 International Prostar, 2012 Freightliner Cascadia, and 2007 Peterbuilt 375. Currently I'm in 2010 or older NABI and New Flyer Transit Vehicles.

Always wondered what it would be like to fly in the Zeppelin. Modern day ones are awesome.

Looked it up to see which one you've flown in.

General characteristics
  • Crew: 2
  • Capacity: 12 passengers or 1,900 kg (4188 lb) payload
  • Length: 75.00 m (246 ft 0¾ in)
  • Diameter: 14.16 m (46 ft 5½ in)
  • Width: 19.50[23] m (63 ft 11¾ in)
  • Height: 17.40 m (57 ft 1 in)
  • Volume: 8,255 m3 (290,450 ft3)
  • Gross weight: 10,690 kg (23,567 lb)
  • Powerplant: 3 × Textron Lycoming IO-360 air-cooled flat-four, 149 kW (200 hp) each each
Performance
  • Maximum speed: 125 km/h (77 mph)
  • Cruising speed: 115 km/h (71 mph)
  • Range: 900 km (559 miles)
  • Endurance: 24 hours
  • Service ceiling: 2,600 m (8,530 ft)
Got a question:
Says the service ceiling is 2600m (8530 ft) is that because of pressurization issues?

Some 200 hrs in gliders, mostly basic two-seats, but some amount in glass-fiber single-seaters as well. Liked the Ka-8 best, although it was cramped for my length. No current license for 20 years. Last top-up in a two-seater 15 years ago. - Leif

Yes, this type of limit is called "Ballonet Ceiling."

Ballonet Ceiling: Under constant pressure/temperature conditions, the gas loss associated with flight above this height will prevent a safe descent to the start point with adequate hull pressure because the ballonets will be full at x height above the ground. Hope this helps, -Scott Danneker

I am intimidated by the lists here! But, for what it's worth, I have 16 hours in a 95hp Super Cub (yes, ground looped it once), and a little swoop and turn time in a Navion and a Cessna 195. That was with the Fort Knox Aero Club when I was in the army. Then I logged roughly 70 civilian hours in a 172 - mostly off and on over 7 years. Several "I shouldn't have done that" stories, but no dings. No ticket. Moved to Michigan and $ was triple what I was paying in Cleveland, so no more left seat.
