Is this an Optical Illusion?

I found this photo online. It looks like those Voodoos are right on top of that B-52. It must be an optical illusion. Isn't it?

no, just depth.
The B52 is that much bigger than the Fighter.

I'm sure the planes are within close proximity, but nothing drastic.

Just zoom depth distortion combined with aircraft size.

Compare the Pilots and cockpits sizes.
Compare the engine dimensions.
Those B52 engine housings are as long as the engine in the Voodoo (not including afterburners).
So that shows you how far away the B52 must be.

No, that guy really is that big.
I've seen him in other photos.
He's huge!

The Voodoo is at least 20 feet behind and below the tip of the B-52

You're all missing the big clue.

The B52 is over the USA and Vodoos are over Canada, somebody zoomed to make it look like an intercept....

They zoomed in too close though. They completely missed the SR-71 flying formation 50,000 feet higher.

Well, the B52 clearly says USAF and has a USA Flag, while the Voodoo up front has a red maple leaf.....

Checked with a magnifying lens to try to see if the red in the center of the circle is a maple leaf, looks like it.. Or am I seeing an optical illusion?

Hey Dave, that look like a Canadian Voodoo?

Mike
