B-17 Flying Fortress film clips!
Here is an early Christmas present for all the B-17 fans out there.
http://www.gettyimages.com/videos/b-17-flying-fortress?excludenudity=true&phrase=b-17%20flying%20fortress&sort=best#license This is a nice selection of both vintage and modern film clips of B-17s. Many are from Warner Bros. featuring clips from such films as “Air Force” and “Desperate Journey”. These clips show actual B-17s as well as some special effects shots with models of varying accuracy. The shark fin stuff from “Air Force” is particularly interesting. There are also some really neat films of Y1B-17s in natural metal and OD over neutral gray camouflage. Be sure to take a look at the interesting film of a B-17G strung up between a couple of towers at the Aberdeen Proving Ground (with a T-34/85 tank sitting nearby) for explosives tests. Who am I kidding, it's all really great stuff! Enjoy! P.S. Check out the (very hot!) French fashion model setting a free-fall parachute jumping record from a B-17 in Brazil on page 2!

I’ve already started a reference file on Brazilian B-17s and Colette Duval.

Great stuff, John! Many thanks.
I note that video 567756017 (2nd image, eighth row), purporting to show two men departing a B-17 actually shows a Lockheed Hudson, but it, too, is an interesting sequence. Don |
