No ... but when you choose a name like that for a forum as an admin your pretty much summing up that your going to be a D-Bag.

It's good to see the numbers really pick up on this forum. Next year there will be a local CON called Hal-con. I am considering creating a display to card-evangelize the hobby and we can have some more converts from plastic.

Always thought the Zealot admin was an idiot - doesn't seem to comprehend that Zealot can't assert copyright arbitrarily over all content. They do, however, assert a licence over material on their site which means that they are respecting individual copyright and IP.

Charlie

seems to me he's in the bag for a DMCA violation, now all we have to do is find crowdgather's ISP so you designers can proceed legally.

Thing is ... that user agreement is not available at the forum and when you send files to be hosted there isn't an agreement available.

I upped a file to verify this and there isn't any legal fineprint to reinforce what they are doing.

The admins don't care about anything but their cash flow. They even tolerate people asking to share SCANNED models now. One admin asked the guy to introduce himself and that's all. Great moderation/administering there.

Too easy:

Crowdgather - Find it on Forums resolves to 209.132.192.58

Crowdgather Inc has been assigned 209.132.192.0-255

by Alchemy Communications Inc - Los Angeles Data Center, Colocation, Managed Service, Disaster Recovery | Alchemy Communications Inc..

Alchemy provides server hosting and all the usual stuff that ISPs do.

Charlie

Ok guys - I am of the opinion that this thread has run its course. On a personal level, I want to see you great designers retain all your rights and control of distribution of your models, but as a forum admin I don't believe it's in our best interest to continue to have a public forum 'war' against them, so I'm closing this one. Further discussion of legal action should be easy enough to continue in PM's, I believe.
Thanks for understanding that PM.com is about modeling
