Photobucket now charges for embedding images

Now I seem to be able to see images hosted in pb and linked in other sites without using the browser add-ons.


Tried with Firefox and Microsfot Edge on sites and threads that I know had linked images from Photobucket, and they seem to be fine (at least those that were left in the servers. Sadly many people erased their pb files and can no longer be seen).


Probably a change in politics in the company. Not sure if it will be temporary or if it will last. But at least images on old threads can be seen again by the time being!

Hmmm? Fingers crossed for a total restoration, but I think I'll be leaving the browser add ons in place. just in case.

Anyone tried adding some new pictures and posting them yet?



I just posted a new picture. I can see it here, but I've got the fixes installed.

In order to upload a new picture to PB I had to go through an email check, but it seems to have gone well, with no demand for money. I wonder how long this will last?

John...are you saying they can somehow earn back your trust?
LOL...You have to consider that they could make drastic changes again.
At any time, without warning.
They've done it once and they can do it again.
In fact, their actions so far indicate that they flip flop and are not satisfied ...and could again make a money grab.

Are you willing to go through all this trouble again?
I'm not.
I have too many photos across too many sites.

I trusted photobucket before they screwed everyone.
So 'trust' really doesn't mean anything with photobucket.

As I said, I'll never go back regardless of what they offer.
I've already had to move more than 3500 photos.
They could offer free unlimited bandwidth storage (like I have with mediafire)
and I still won't bother using their services.

Yes, I'd like to see this image blocking thing removed.
But it still comes down to bandwidth and 3rd party linking.
If they expect us to pay for it, then they won't remove that blocking.

Well, to bad for photobucket. The older images are still there, but for my new ones I've moved to Imgur.

Hmm, it appears that most of my buildlogs are restored.
The images are back. But some of my images were hosted on Facebook for the meantime.
These links are still broken since after a while the image links seems to alter.
