Historical Anniversaries

I'd like to create this thread for all historical anniversaries. Feel free to remind and discuss here about any event or moment in history.

When creating "anniversary post", remember to make it visible. Add title, use different font, color(not too bright)... Just make it visible and distinctive.

There are many sites out there that do this. We used to call them "Disk jockey" filler pages.

As well as remind and discuss I would like to see an event related model to honor the participants of that day. NOT the event itself, per se, but to honor the men, women and children who experienced it.

In the plastic world we used to have Group Builds leading up to an anniversary.

That's the location of the On This Date subsection, but you have to log in to see the various subsections. You evidently hadn't already logged in there this morning or it would have taken you right there

I think that Signature link (too) only works if you are registered and already logged in.
Vermin probably needs to update that.

...plan your idea, so it doesn't duplicate the many similar ideas already out there
and then create a new "clean" thread for it?
Just a suggestion.

And give the new thread a better name than "Historical Anniversaries" which sounds too much like On This Date, in my opinion.
