I think its out of the shops hands(except maybe explaining what shipping method they used) so I will hold the fort down and see how it goes.
Thanks John |

if the states system work like here the supllier has to do all the chasing of post or couriers as they are the customers of the postage system not you.i know some send you a tracking number when they post out so you can track where parcel is but they have to chase post/couriers not you

When I had my previous delivery sent to the US, I was given tracking info, which as mentioned, just said it had left Poland for well over a month. The polish tracking site gave me a link to the USPS site that told me I could opt in to receive a notification as soon as they got their hands on the parcel... I opted in but I never heard back from them, even after the parcel had been delivered.

I mentioned this thread to someone who is knowledgeable about the postal industry and got an interesting response!
Something he explained which had not occurred to me is that at the borders - and here we are talking about the customs mainly - handling procedures have fallen behind the times. In essence technology and its use in tracking, now means that items require scanning at the various points of entry - the scanning also needs to be backed up by the appropriate hardware and software. But because postal service processing now tends to get put on the back burner when it comes to finances and budgets, the handling of goods has been dramatically affected due to a shortage of up to date technology, scanning devices, automated handling equipment etc.. He advised that in many first world countries now, the time needed to process packages and parcels through at Point of Entry, mainly for the reasons mentioned above, range from 5 to 30 working days. This is before the goods are then handed over to local PO or carriers. Those of you who are curious can maybe do a "Request for Information" based on the above and find out in reality what the Point of Entry delay is.....

Thanks again, I had sent an email to the shop to ask what postage method they used and how long they were told it would take. They never responded (15 days ago) so I do not expect help on the tracing it.
Ahh well John |
