Aircraft Inertia Starter On A Harley.
This sounds so cool- I'm fitting one on my car!

Uhh,I'm pretty sure Merlin engines had electric starters with only some versions fitted with Coffman cordite cartridge starters. I don't think any of British liquid cooled engines had inertia starters but my memory is foggy on this one. Kestrel engines maybe?
Also ,this is purely a show bike as evidenced my bolt-together frame. I would bet inertia starter was modeled after some model and scaled down to be useful here. Size and weight of original inertia started would render this idea a non-starter. Sorry to be a killjoy |

For sure, German WW2 planes were equipped with such starters, but not the Spitfire.

I agree. Motorcycle engines can sound really beautiful. Can't enjoy them now
YT is full of awesome bikes running. Find Henderson Four or Danish Nimbus bikes for symphony of valve train. FN Four is just as amazing but on smaller scale. |
