Looking for good quality punch & die set

I can't find one with small sizes suitable for scale modeling.
Any suggestions?

This one goes from 0.5 mm to 2.0 mm. Kind of pricey, though.
RP TOOLZ RP-PD Punch and die set

Seems to be a lot of good reviews about the set.

Both of the above seem to be pretty reasonable on cost. I bought mine years ago, maybe 15yrs?, and it was like $40. A few things to consider. Size - how small of holes do you want to make, If you want more mid size holes, Harbor Freight has a 9 piece set for about $40. Are you cutting holes to make a hole or for disks ? A hex set is nice to add detail. The RP ToolZ site , sells a tray to set the punch in to collect the disks and hexes. I made one out of scrap basswood and recommend having one. Once you have a set of punches you will wonder why you didn't buy them years ago. I have small round, small hex and the Harbor freight one. Do be aware that the reach of the punch set from the edge of a sheet is limited, so maybe a hollow punch set is more suited to what you want to do.

If you want to make holes in the model for detail or mounting wires, as opposed to cutting out small circles for rivets etc, a micro drill set is a much better tool for that.

These super small drill sets can be found at the local welding supply store.

Ask for a Acetylene Tip Cleaning Drill. All the super small size drill bits are in the handle, you can chuck them in the housing and twist with your fingers to drill.
