I took Latin in High School many years ago.
We used to say: Latin is a dead language, as dead as dead can be. Latin killed the Romans and now its killing me. |

I actually rather enjoyed it. Wish I remembered more then stray words, but at least it did help me with my English language structure.

Latin
It lasted for over six years, from the age of 12 until 18. In the end, I was sick up with, overwhelming translations we did not end up with.

dead lenguage
Yes, yes Latin is a dead lenguage.
But is alive in thousands expressions, lawyers, for example, use a lot of latin expressions. A lot of time ago, in the Institute, i thought: Latin lenguage is bored. Now i think: we are heirs of that great lenguage. Cheers from Canary Islands. |

Romans and papermodels
I guess the Romans would have been interested in papermodels: they don't mind the stuff, on the contrary of the ancient Greeks (their buildings are not solid marble, but most of the time a plating onto other material) and their monuments are duplicated everywhere around the Mediterranean sea, just as papermodels spread over the planet, thanks to the web. A sort of common language, resembling the latin.
