Scale of Aces of Ecardmodels
Thanks to those of you that have submitted models. I think that to maintain a line of consistency for this series I am going to require an initial scale of 1:33 (1:32 also acceptable) if you wish to also make another scale it can be included in the same package but this size will be required. I am looking at getting some redesign work done on the ones that are smaller if possible so that we can all work on the same scales. We will see how this goes
Thanks Chris |

I want input from everyone.... 1:48 is quite popular. 1:33 is even more popular. by how much I dont know.
I think there is a bit of detail difference expectations between the two sizes on the customers behalf. I have already gotten several repaints in 1:48 that are quite good. Should I offer this in two different series 1:48 and 1:33? 1:48 would have a base price of $4.50 and 1:33 would have a base price of $7.00 Each additional livery in a kit would boost the price by $1, liveries included as layers would be minor changes like changing an emblem or a number. Nothing major like colors or camo. Thoughts? Your guys input is very important to me and I weigh it carefully Thanks Chris |

This is something that I've said earlier: Initially you told me that 1:48 is the smallest acceptable. And many models in electronic format are in 1:48.

Yes I did tell you that at first but I really like the idea of a 1:33 standard with smaller scales as an option. Having two possible set scales of differing detail levels will also have its perks

Just some thoughts:
1/33 is a good scale, many of the guys at PM ask for that scale in planes. We already have some 1/33 aircraft to work with. Upscaling a model to 1/33 before repainting is better than trying to upscale later. Downsizing a 1/33 model (to a smaller scale) when printing and building is less complicated and does not affect print quality, as opposed to trying to upsize a model. Mareks kits are 1/50...not 1/48. (Are there others at this scale?) My suggestion would be produce at 1/33...consider offering 1/48 scale at a later date. Maybe even wait for customer feedback before doing so.

I posted a poll over at PM.com to get some more input, considerably more traffic there. You two guys are the main advocates for each side
I pretty much lean towards 1:33 as the standard but the customer is king! |

In Poland standard scale for models are:
- 1:33 and 1:50 for airplanes, - 1:100, 1:200 and sometimes 1:300 for ships - 1:25 for cars, tanks and others vehicles - for buildings 1:100/150, 1:200/250 and smaller - it depens on building I had never seen in shops paper models on 1:48 or 1:72 edit: the same scale used designers from Russia, Czech Republik and others European country (in printed by publisher models) |

for some reason 1:32 and 1:48 are also very popular. No idea where they come from though - need to ask Roman and Nobi

Don't really have reasons for 1:33 over 1:48 other than it's easier for me to see and it's easier for my butterfingers to work with. :o
