1950 Nash Ambassador AirFlyte
Presented here is my 1/20th scale 1950 Nash Ambassador Airflyte. My usual laminated corrugated construction is used, with lightweight cardboard over that, and finished with colored paper.
The colors are authentic; the reference is a site called Auto Color Library, from which you can view any colors offered, for any year, of any brand of car you are ever likely to replicate. The wheels roll on nail axles. |

With a wheel base as long as that and a closed off front wheel opening, this car must have had one obscene turning radius.

On the real Nash, the sides of the car flared outward slightly to provide a tolerable turning radius. The long wheelbase, and coil springs on all four wheels, made the Nash a very comfortable over-the-road car.

Nice model Mark. Your interpretation is timeless and very imposing, it would look great in a scifi movie.
BTW I found these great ads online . . . http://www.chuckstoyland.com/nash/nash/ |
