Bugatti 35B from YPS fanpages

Here's another vintage auto, a 1927 Bugatti type 35B. This model and many more can be found at:YPS Fanpage: Sonstiges: Bastelbögen.

The Bugatti was one of the fastest and most beautiful racers of it's era. Imagine speeds upward of 100 mph with no seat belts, no helmet, not even an enclosed drivers cockpit.

Read all about it in German here:

Here are some photos of the completed model:

Hope you enjoy them,

Curt

Curt, this series of old cars is in my electronic collection. Can you confirm my guess that the axles should be wire -- the rear straight, and the front bent according to the little diagram?

Yale, yes the axles for this little gem are wire and the diagram for this model is mostly correct. Ichiyama has a version that's much more detailed at:

www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~kamaboko/

Though I did not do it for this model the wires should be bent so that the front wheels are canted outward. See the attached photo from th instructions for the Ichiyama version.

Hope this helps,

Curt

Very nice, Curt. About what size/scale is the model? Is yours a reduction of the published size?

The model at Ichiyama's site has really been hard to locate. I found a link to a page with the downloads to make it easier.

@Achvillangler, you did a fantastic job of that car. You made it more than it was. I have seen other build it thought it was a waste of time, but your build shows what a great modeler can do with a simple model.

Ichiyama's model and link: Bugatti T35/T51 of ?????? 1/30model

Thanks for the kind words guys. Don, I reduced the size by 1/3rd to print both part sheets on one page. Zathros, thanks for the direct link to the Ichiyama model download and for providing the photo that shows it to be far superior to this vintage version. I suppose I should pull out my unfinished effort at that one at some point and give it another go.

Curt
