What incredible attention to detail. It is amazing you got paper into this shape. How many months did it take you to complete?

Thanks to all for the comments....

Bob, it took around 6 months, averaging anywhere from a few hours a week at some stages up to 5-6 hours a day minimum towards the end, I've been out of work the last couple of months which helped a lot towards getting it finished.

Talking

Congrats.....

You made a hell of a model out of the planes......

I think i will make my next model with more details, just to almost match your builds......

Its very impresive and i think even better looking as my white build of it.

I take from your hopefuly clear sailing that there are not to much flaws in the construction ?

We all awaiting if you have the balls to take on a real bottle of beer

Thanks everyone for the comments...

nosports... there are no flaws in the design of the model, the only problems I had were sometimes the pictures in the instructions didn't clearly show how some parts were to be built but studying the parts closely and some pictures further ahead in the instructions usually helped. This is also due to my "low quality" printed instructions, opening the pdf on the computer and enlarging sometimes helped too. My only advice for future models would be to use high res closeup photos but considering that this model was designed so long ago back when we all had lo-res cameras it's not so bad.

I really like the way your models come together, at first to look at them they look quite complicated and I was too scared to build one for a very long time but once you get into it they are actually very well thought out and well designed, I love the way a whole bunch of sub-assemblies suddenly come together to form a beast of a model. I also love the scale which allows me to add all the extra detail although I welcome your idea to add more into the design.

All said and done, I really enjoy building your models, I've already started the next one and the excavator will be after that. This should give you plenty of time to work on completing "the other one" that I can't wait to get my hands on.

Now... about that bottle of beer. I don't think my model can handle it due to all the extra weight I put into the boom, I already need more than half a kilogram of counterweight just to hold the boom up. I was planning to get a picture of the crane lifting the truck but got lazy and couldn't be bothered building the frame to hold it level without ripping it apart... maybe some other time.
