Detailed Komatsu Dump Truck

I haven't been posting here in a while but I have been building. Someone on this forum (I forget who) once opted the idea, after posting some pictures of Komatsu models from the Canon site that I had built, that these models are a great starting point to use for more detailed versions.

I combined this idea with the idea that I would like to make a model using colored paper only, no ink. This to make my models look as if they were created using origami, another passion of mine. I purchased a Cameo cutting plotter (which is awesome by the way) so that I can cut without printed lines and made myself familiar with Inkscape. These are the results up untill now...

Nice. It does have a clean look, too. I haven't tried this, but another way to not show lines would be to create a mirror image of each page, print on colored paper, then cut by the lines on the back.

I'll second that!

Had a slight learning curve with mine, mainly stemming from learning the tricks for exporting from Illustrator into the Studio software (I'm too cheap- er, frugal to buy the Sure Cuts A Lot software).

Nice job on the model so far, can't wait to see the end results.

That's awesome, even the colored paper idea is the same. I dig it. My model is based on the template from the canon creative park site.
