aston dbr9
apoligies for lack of participation, however I have not been idle, last quarter 2014 did a cosmetic resto on my 1976 Toyota crown & as it's my daily driver I had to focus, this year i'm restoring my 1964 Vauxhall viva & next month I will commence a 10 ft vintage caravan build.but I didn't allow any rust to my take over my scissors,i have completed cannons bald eagle, added to my f1 grid and made a few 1/43rd trackside buildings for the for the slot car track.i'm about half way through modeliks pietropawlowsk and needed a break,so for a bit of light relief(ha ha)I started the dbr9 & made a complete mess of car 28,determined to improve I am building car 29 & present pics of my slow progess for your comment.Harry

printed all parts pages on 200 gsm, sealed with wood sealer(not water based,it's rubbish),sprayed all body parts with clear gloss enamel, can only do this because I am removing all glue tabs & reprinting body parts on copy paper to provide new tabs

Looking good. It's got to be tough to restore cars, and then get your hands clean enough to work on card models without soiling the paper. I have that problem sometimes, and it's not often that I work with my hands.

Thanks Gearhead, good to hear from another pm in aus, well the reason for no edge colouring is that I printed all three of the dbr9's & page 8 of each disappointingly has a different colour reg & I lack the computer skills to fix so I will be spraying this one,you can see the difference between bonnet & guard(fender)& shows much more once clear coats are applied as seen on my messed up car 24

This is an excellent project. I appreciate the sharp images and your explanation of the work, as well as your comments about 1/1 scale restoration.
Beautiful model, interior and exterior! Don |
