Y. Tanaka's LP400 Countach
Starting a build on one of my favorite cars, the Lamborghini Countach. This is in 1/30 scale by Yasu Tanaka, the model is available in his webpage (Y.Tanaka's Paper Model). The model has two options for the pop up headlights, have them up or down. I choose up. I use 200 gsm 8.5 x 11 paper for this.

Fabulous! Looking forward to seeing the build progress, especially with the pop-ups!

More progress, I followed the instructions as how Yasu shown in his website. I assembled the body first and cut the headlight covers for the pop up head lights with an X-Acto then I inserted the pop ups under. I also assembled the bottom base/chassis of the car. Next are the wheels and the small parts .

Next part: the wheels has two options, you can assemble them straight away for simpler wheels and for a detailed style, you cut out the rim face of the wheels and assemble the separate rim templates and insert at the bottom of the cut rim face. I chose the latter. Then comes the small parts: the side air intakes, side mirrors, rear license plate, and the windshield wiper. The wiper is the most challenging one, you have to very carefully cut the center of it since it is a thin part that can rip easily.

After adding the wheels and small parts to the car, the model is finally complete, I enjoyed building the model. Here are pics of the completed model

Awesome build! Looks super cool, at 1/30 it must be pretty small, too! Nice, clean work.

Thank you everyone! I appreciate the kind comments.
The finished model is around 5 inches long and 2 inches wide not too big nor too small IMO and here it is with my diecast Countach collection (except the 1:87's one which is all plastic) in other scales with an AAA battery for sense of scale. |
