WMC Frese & Co delivery van - George Bormann

Started this model tonight. It is a delivery van for the George Bormann candy company in Russia. Built by Frese and Company the design is based on that used by De Dion Bouton.

The frame builds up first. Parts fit is good so far. I added some bolts detail from parts offered by Meng models.

Neat project! I like old trucks. This one will look good alongside Kevin's Mack tanker.

Great choice Greg - I was rooting for this one
I'll be watching it come together either here or over on FB
BTW I really like the nuts-n-bolts - have to get me some of those!

Great project Greg. The nuts and bolts add nice detailing to the frame.

Hadn't seen this one before. Got one set of those Meng nuts and bolts. Little expensive but really nice. Will be following with great interest.

Thanks everyone for checking in! Got the engine built up and added a few more nuts and bolts detail to the transmission. There were a few other places that have printed bolt head details but they were all smaller than what I had in my Meng accessories.

Parts fit was generally good but the cylinder wraps seemed to be a bit oversized for the laminated end pieces that fit into them.

I'm just guessing here but I am assuming this was a 2 cylinder 2 cycle engine? I don't really know. Haven't found much on the net to tell me one way or the other.

Drive train finished up tonight. What a puzzle even with good drawings. The front drive shaft had to be shortened. Both valve mechanisms broke off the top of the engine. Lost one so had to make a new one. Definitely a de Dion Bouton rear axle/suspension setup.

That chassis, engine, and drive train really look good. With all that detail, it's a complex model of a fairly un-complex vehicle. Based on the work so far, this one is going to be a real show piece when completed.
