70's F1 scratchbuilt with a twist
Good morning
Recently (well some 7 months ago by now) I got this bit of anniversary in work. Decided to make a model for this occasion. Since I'm recently more into old F1 than anything else, the choice was rather obvious. Always liked the Shadow DN 1 but as the models from Czech Republic or Slovakia are not so easy to obtain decision was made to scratch build something with good likeness. To get the general measures I use part of the fuselage from the simple Spinler Lotus 72 model. My kit is in 1/32 scale, wheels, suspension and engine is from Spinler kit, the rest is my doing. |

Ok
That was fast Wheels as most boring were done first. And finally I've managed ones that I don't have to be ashamed of. Much... Kitchen alu foil comes pretty handy |

Finishing the wheels and starting with engine.
Sanding edges of wheels added positively to the result. As it turned out putting alu foil first on rim parts was mistake. It got wrinkles all over. Better results with making complete wheel first and then putting alu foil on the rims parts. Adding a bit of details to the engine. |

This time more on the engine, also rear suspension and moving up front. |

Starting with the steering and moving to cockpit area.
After all coil overs look better when they're closer to original. As made from wire instead of rolled stripe of paper... |
