Tribute model to Rick Steffers

One of Rick's passions was off road racing, of any type. And he was a Jeep fan.
Our friends at Minimodel.sk, have released a 4th of July Jeep, dedicated to the memory of Rick.
It's an awesome little model, and carries a lot of meaning.

I will be building a 1/50 scale version. I printed it yesterday evening and will begin cuttin' and pastin' today.

1/87?? I would have expected you to reduce the scale to 1/200,

I like to keep my vehicles at 1/87. I did a series of 1/144 show cars, but I don't think I can do that effectively anymore.

Peter and I are working on an idea. We are talking about setting up a "tribute" table,
with Ricks picture. With that, we are also talking about sending the model link out to all
attendees, and asking them to build the Jeep, at their chosen scale, then placing them all
on his table for the duration of the convention.

Further info will be forthcoming.

That's a good idea. I found a nice photo of Rick from Carlisle, 2012. A cropped portion of it forms the center section of the chassis (part 9) on my model.

I formed the main body on mine and found a slight error that can be remedied if you have Photoshop, etc: the left side upper fender is missing part of a star that should mate up with one on the hood. If you have the means, copy and mirror the right side upper fender and move it to the left side.
