Rick Steffers Tribute Jeep - Don and Lil Boose Contribution

For our contribution to the 2022 International Paper Modelers’ Convention Rick Steffers Memorial Jeep Build, we printed František Kováčik’s 1/100 Minimodel at 208 percent (enlarged to 1/48) on 67-pound Neenah Bright White Premium Cardstock, which is 0.19mm thick. We used Faber Castell PITT artist brush pens and Caran d’Ache Neocolor II water soluble wax crayons for edge coloring and Elmer’s white glue as an adhesive.

We built the model exactly in accordance with the instructions, but followed Don Weeks’s suggestion and reversed the chassis parts 5 and 8. We also used a base patterned on one designed by Don Weeks and reinforced with 0.5mm cardboard. We used the inscription from the model and printed out a “brass” plate to identify the model.

With the base, the model won’t fit into the box that comes with the kit, so we enlarged and cut up the parts to make a box to transport the model to Sterling.

Thanks to František Kováčik for designing the model, to Ray Smith (Texman) for introducing the model to the Forum, to Ray and Peter Ansoff for organizing the Memorial Build, and to rockpaperscissors for his advice on how to build the model and for providing the pattern for the base.

The model is at FE3697 JEEP WRANGLER - Minimodel Web

This collaboration (Don & Lil) turned out well.
I think Rick would be honored.

A really nice looking model, Don. I look forward to seeing it in a couple of weeks.

Hi Don,

Could you measure the diameter of the tires at your scale, Please?

Thank you.
