Porsche 962C - 24 Hrs Le Mans 1989
I'm not usually a car person, but I have always like the look of the Le Mans racers, and this looked like an interesting challenge. The kit is from Mega Graphic in 1:24 scale.
So far, I'm impressed with the artwork and fit of the parts. The instruction drawings are woefully inadequate, the text is in Czech. Pavel at Mega Graphic gave me a link to a detailed build thread on a Czech modelers' site, and the photos have been a life-saver. Like the Czech modeler, I eliminated the tabs on the chassis, doubled the thickness of the parts with black card, and buiit it up using butt joints. That gave me a much easier and cleaner build. Engine and transmission come next, then rear suspension, and finally the shell -- lots of work to do.

Looking good!
Would you be able to share the link to the build thread? |

I should have included it in the original post. Here it is:

Thank you sir!
I've had this model for quite awhile now but I've been hesitant to start it. Now with your build and the other thread, it might be time... |

Take your time and study the photos carefully. They are not a perfect solution. I'm still scratching my head over some the parts and where they go. I scanned, enlarged, and printed the kit's building diagrams. That seems to help. Fit and finish seem good once you figure where things go. There are ots of greeblies* on the engine and transmission.
* greeblie (noun), a small, fussy part that disappears when the modeler sneezes. When greeblies drop off one's workbench, which they often do, they do not land on the floor under the bench. They will be found, if at all, under the couch in the next room.

Thanks for the tip.
Greeblies, that's funny! I'm familiar with greeblies, but I use a not so family friendly term for those parts. |

David,
There’s another OMRON build in the same forum by Malick: Papirove modelařstvi CZ • Zobrazit tema - PORSCHE 962C OMRON / MegaGraphic, M.Antonicky / 1:24 Perhaps it may be of some help.
