Drive train. What there is of it.
I decided to use styrene rod for the drive shaft, choosing not to roll the long cylinders from the paper parts. The exhaust is fashioned from solder using the provided pattern. The engine lower was missing the front part of the bell housing. I don't know if the parts were not provided in my print or I inadvertently tossed them. There were laser cut parts for either end of that piece and I only had to make a strip from scratch to replace the missing part. Greg |

Outer box skinning.
Mostly OK. Had aligning issues between inner box and skin windows. Tried my best to hide issues with markers. Front roof effort sucks. Both design and my execution are poor. Rear doors fit is a little vague. They did open. They would not stay closed. Now they are glued shut. I like the look of the box interior and the ladder leading to the upper berth. Greg

Finished (except for side mirrors I forgot before pictures).
Rear bumper fashioned and installed. Front bumper built up. Had to scratch build bumper mounts to fit in holes of cab front. These were simply pieces of styrene rod. Bumper initially mounted too high and had to adjust appropriately. Side trim added. Side mirrors added after pictures. So, I had high hopes for a nice enjoyable build with few issues. I had more issues than desired. Both the kit engineering and my building efforts could have been better. The laser cut set were a godsend and I cannot recommend them enough. It is not the intermediate kit it should be so caveat emptor.... Greg

It's a really fine model of a non-standard car. I especially appreciate the Polish scent.

I'm curious about the construction of the leaf springs.
How many leaves and are they double layer? Is there a template for the shape? How did you maintain the curve and shape?

No template for shape provided on this one. There usually is one provided though, go figure.... Longest leaf I glue the two layers then form the arch to fit the mounts before the glue sets. Each pair per axle are formed at the same time for consistency side to side. Then let them dry. After that other layers are shaped and added on. Greg

I thought about it for a second, but I would rather just go on to the next project. Greg
