Thank you, Edgardo, though "fast" is not how I see it! I have retired from work, so have a lot more free time than most people and can put in two or three hours on my models most days. On top of that, this model is going together so well compared with my struggles with the Yamaha VMAX, that I am encouraged to spend even more time with it.

Your last message gave me hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.:p
I have think many times that I will be able to make more modeling when I retire, and here you are showing us that YES there is time for enjoying this hobby.
I have some recolors for Yamaha bikes in case you ran out of options but want to keep on the motorcycle theme.
Here are a couple of pictures.

If you are interested, just send me a PM.
Best regards.

Edgardo, I have never regretted taking early retirement - I enjoyed my work, but it had about run its course and I had no desire to drag it out with little innovation to inspire me. I think the key to happy retirement is to develop interests outside your work which will sustain you afterwards. In my case I have music (I play violin, viola and double bass in several amateur orchestras and bands), golf and modelling. Together these keep me quite busy, and out of my wife's hair.

Your repaints look lovely, but I don't think I shall be needing any additional subjects soon. There is the new Kawasaki from Kozin coming, and (let us hope) a new Yamaha likely in December, and I really must get back to some architecture. I feel a purchase of some castles and cathedrals coming on!

Back on topic, I have fitted the rear wheel. This was mostly completed earlier, so didn't involve much work.

Mainly I have been working on the front end. This has been quite difficult, as there are lots of tiny parts, and the shapes are complex. The two yokes which hold the front forks both needed two attempts, the first being sufficient only to discover the problems and to give some idea of the finished shape. This made it possible to get something half-decent on the second try.

The last pieces are in place, not without a bit of a struggle.

The Belt Drive was first, and hardest. It has thin fabricated boxes front and rear, joined by a delicate combination of thin rolled rods and openwork guards. There was no way I was going to construct them and keep them even approximately flat and parallel, so instead I have made solid pieces of cardboard covered with the paper shell, and reduced the width of the pulleys inside to fit. This required a good session with the graphics software (Inkscape this time) to build up the correct profiles, and has resulted in a good strong box, which can take a bit of handling.

After that, the rest was easy (!) The right pedal assembly is just a box and a few cylinders, and the kickstand virtually made itself.

Finally a couple of switches under the saddle. They look pretty rough in the photo, but my excuse is that they are quite small (the knob at the top is a little less than a millimetre in diameter).

Full views will have to await the morrow and some decent daylight.

For the photos of the finished model, I thought it would be fair to place them in a thread with a proper title, instead of this rather whimsical one.

You will find them here.
