From Wikipedia :
Nestlé Smarties are a colourful sugar-coated chocolate confectionery popular in Europe and the British Commonwealth. They are not distributed in the United States, where another type of confectionery uses the "Smarties" name, except by specialist importers. Smarties are oblate spheroids with a minor axis of about 5 mm (0.2 in) and a major axis of about 15 mm (0.6 in). They come in eight colours: red, orange, yellow, green, mauve (or purple), pink and brown in the UK. In Canada and Australia, blue smarties are included. In the UK, orange smarties contain orange flavoured chocolate. |

I love this forum. Where else could you find out that Smarties (and, presumably, M&Ms) are oblate spheroids?

I knew that. An Oblate Father told me.

Hey, I'm really glad the colours were linked to other pages in wikithingy. I wouldn't have had a clue what they were talking about otherwise. But if someone could explain 'sugar-coated' to me, I'd be very grateful. And what is a 'Canada and Australia'? Some kind of box, or paper bag maybe? I think we should be told, don't you?
