I had to walk two and a half miles to school. if I wanted to go on a bus, I had to walk half a mile to the bus stop and get on a city bus with all the perverts. In the winter, I'd ice skate to school, though.

You are all a bunch of whinny whippersnappers! Us older, and smarter, guys had to invent PAPER so you guys could have a hobby. You owe us for the smart, inventive generation we were and are. And after we invented paper we had to invent the pencil so that we could HAND DESIGN the models we wanted to build. We built paper logs as that was the only kind of warship we had, they fired dead fish. We did not know about airplanes so we designed birds dropping sticks and seeds (rocks weren't invented yet). Tanks were a hollow log rolled down hill, drivers weren't worth much at the bottom, usually lost the tank and the driver. There was not much else cause outer space was usually the area on the other side of the river.

So, quit whining and get to building all those models you can cause us "geezers' invented PAPER for you!

You couldn't pay me enough to be a kid today. Twitchy post-Columbine zero-tolerance policies put you in peril if you draw the wrong pictures or say the wrong words. A friend's kid got permanently expelled for referencing his favorite anime, "Death Note", in a writing assignment; he was given the option of going to the school for the hardened juvenile offenders. Kindergarten for me was milk and cookies, nap and stories, shaking cream in a jar to make butter, and looking at the grasshopper through the magnifying glass; now it's first grade a year early. I just finished raising a kid to a young woman, seen her and her friends, the ubiquity of prescribed "psychological" medication. Born 30 years later, I don't think I would have made it, and all the internet and electronic toys in the world would make up for that.
