1/48 1920's airliner Fokker III KLM
This model was designed and left without it's undercarriage when we decided to convert all our unreleased designs to the larger 1/48 scale.
This is a model that really suits the paper medium and is typical of the Fokker design arrangement with a large monoplane wing constructed from plywood and a squarish body. Hopefully this will not take too much to scale up as most of the work has been already completed at 1/72.

Thanks Rob. Hope life is well in Atlanta. At some point in time we will be creating the Prudden-Whitehead tri-motor which has its origins in Atlanta as I recall..

That's most excellent, another one for my collection!
If you need more references, in particular concerning the German F.IIs (hint, hint !!!), don't hesitate to ask me! If I remember correctly, there was quite some variation amongst the F.IIs . E.g., the pilot sat to the right or to the left, depending on the installed engine, and the like... Additionally: The State Archives Basel-Stadt keep the BALAIR photo collection with some good pictures of Swiss F.IIIs (amongst many others). You might want to search for 'sternenfeld' (i.e., Basel-Sternenfeld aerodrome) at scopeArchiv - Volltextsuche. Another interesting source is the online image archive of the ETH Zürich: http://ba.e-pics.ethz.ch/default/intro.jsp Just search for Fokker (or junkers, or Albatros, or....)

Another wonderful historic airliner!
I recall seeing this as a work in progress at the Contour Creative site and am glad that you are going to release it in 1/48. Don |

The Fabulous Fokker III (1925) designed in paper in 1/48 scale. Rosie Louise has done a fine job on this prototype model. The Fokker III had the pilot seated right next to the engine so it was a case of being cooked on one side and freezing on the other. This aircraft was one of the first airliners operated in Russia, the Netherlands, Denmark, Hungary and Switzerland.
a couple of progress images...

Please continue your output. . .
Agree with all the superlatives mentioned. . .Contour Creative has really nice subjects, great design sense and available in so many colors!
In short, my 2013 models will have to include the Fokker here and perhaps your earlier profiled Junkers or Farmann. Will have to flip a coin, but I will win either way. Happy New Year, cbg

Siddeley Puma Engine 240 hp 1/48 scale
(Rosie on writing duties here!)
The Fokker III had a number of different power plants. The 240 h.p. Siddeley Puma also powered the De Havilland 9 and despite its shortcomings, managed some significant aviation achievements. The relativity visibility of the engine in the Fokker III made it ideal to construct in detail which I have here...Posed by a match to give you an idea of scale.. Rosie

Had never heard of this plane before. Live and learn. And the Stout 2-AT Pullman looks like a natural for you as well. Building the Junkers A20 now with great pleasure.
