It was supposed to have an armament of a small calibre fast fire gun (30-40mm calibre). Its tactical use would be close support of Infantry Attacks, for suppression of enemy MG's, and also frontal attacks against enemy artillery positions.
Not sure of their source, but that was found at
Austro-Hungarian Burstyn Tank - pre WW1 Tank Project

The Burstyn tank would have been riveted if it had been built - that was the only way to join thin armoured plate at the time. Back then armoured plate was made by carburising steel so the plate had a very hard, brittle surface backed by the softer more elastic plate. This sort of armoured plate couldn't be welded because the heat of the welding process burned out the carbon from the surface and destroyed the armour effect. Thin armoured plates were cut to size and drilled with rivet holes before carburising since the armour plate was difficult to work.

By the 1930s most armour was rolled nickel/chrome plate which could be welded satisfactorily.

Regards,

Charlie

There is certainly a lot of interesting discussion in this thread. I'm glad to see all the recent interest in WWI and Interwar armored vehicles. And the Ertz Steamship and Instruments of War Fabrication and Drydock Company has certainly expanded from ACW river gunboats.

Well, not sure. Sooner or later I need to get back to ACW ironclads for ecardmodels.

Here is the jpeg for the instructions.

Any one going to build it? It is untested and I would love to see it built.
